Dance Pom

WHAT IS POM DANCE? POM is a form of dance combining cheer motion techniques and dance technique. Pom classes are great for both dancers and gymnasts. This class focuses on the core fundamentals of basic Pom structure. Dancers will be working on Pom motions and jumps, tumbling, as well as dance technique including: turns, jumps, leaps and level-appropriate Pom choreography. Pom uses sharp and precise movements, which in turn will help to improve the student’s overall arm and body placement. Routines contain hip-hop, jazz and gymnastics elements.

WHAT SKILLS ARE DEVELOPED WITH POM? Students are trained in dance technique, POM movement/terminology, balance skills,  precision,  team  synchronization, strength, flexibility and tumbling.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POM DANCE AND CHEERLEADING?

POM focuses on dance technique, balance and precision synchronization.

WHAT IS A POM?

A POM (POM-POM) is a loose, fluffy decorative ball used in pairs  as props in POM dance routines.  Poms help to create crowd-pleasing visual effects.

DO I NEED ANY PRIOR EXPERIENCE?

No you do NOT need any type of experience for any of our classes or teams.
