Jason Philpott is known for organizing ‘Mason’s Ride’ in Exeter & for helping several children in the Valley, but more importantly he’s the Father of one of our own cheerleaders & her little brother. He is recovering after a motorcycle crash that left him badly injured. He’s done so much to give others something to cheer about…Let’s return the favor and give him & his family some cheer.

The Message Behind the name Phoenix Elite All-Stars
We constantly get asked why the name Phoenix Elite All-Stars was chosen. So here’s our why…
I’m sure most of you are familiar with the legend of the Phoenix. Short version: It’s a beautiful mystical bird, that is consumed by fire and is reborn from its own ashes.
In our own lives we’ve experienced our own literal & metaphorical burning down of things, ideas, dreams…etc. BUT we’ve also experienced God’s great faithfulness of bestowing beauty for ashes.
“…he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
Isaiah 61:3 NLT
God has given us bigger and better dreams & plans and we are doing our best to be faithful to follow His lead!
The Phoenix is known for RISING and that’s what we want to be known for too. Rising above the circumstances to make the right choices, do our best, treat others with kindness, & to serve with a joyful heart!
Is it because we think we are better than everyone else? No, not at all! Elite also refers to being chosen and seen as precious & valuable, which is exactly how God views all of us!
Just because it’s a Cheerleading category? No way, there’s more to it than that. As God knows each Star by name He also knows each hair on our head! That is how deeply He cares for us All!
“He counts the stars and calls them all by name.”
Psalms 147:4 NLT
We believe that if we are faithful to His calling on our lives the family of God will increase.
“The Lord your God has increased your population, making you as numerous as the stars!”
Deuteronomy 1:10 NLT
B-E aggressive! … Not.
Outside of the gym, you don’t need to be aggressive. What we need, in our daily life, is just a boost of confidence. Being assertive and comfortable in your own skin, as a girl, is becoming more and more a rarity. But at Phoenix Elite, we go against the grain and help nurture the growing confidence of young girls & boys. There’s more to our sport than just being able to smile and shout under a spotlight. We’re able to conquer performance nerves and stage fright because we develop confidence in ourselves. We learn to how to do well in the cheer sphere and keep those skills with us even when we take off the uniform.
The How – Working a Work Ethic
Cheerleading is a competitive sport and the Phoenix’s are like any other athlete: we train hard. The stunts that get the crowd excited at our competitions are difficult skills to learn, yet we master them. As cheerleaders, we come to truly understand that practice makes perfect. Hours of practice might sound intimidating at first, but all that hard work pays off when you find out that you can do those things you thought you couldn’t. Most first-time cheerleaders will even find that, by the end of their first season, they are in the best shape of their lives (what a self-esteem boost!). By being able to physically measure your progress you’ll become confident in your ability to push the limits you had unknowingly set for yourself. The amazing part is that this positive attitude is one that you’ll naturally carry into all parts of your life.
The Why – BFFs For Real
Becoming a Phoenix is like being adopted into a new family. You get spoiled with a level of support that kids hardly find elsewhere. You make new friends that build you up and they help you to learn how you can do it for yourself and others. There’s a real sense of family among cheerleaders and the good feelings get amplified by the encouraging nature of our sport. Plus, being part of a team means you’re a part of a network of friends that always has your back (literally, if you’re a flyer). And that knowledge empowers us with the courage to try new things. You’ll start to believe in yourself and become willing to try a trust-fall – in cheerleading and in real-life.
The Bonus – Cheering Brings You Cheer
A cheerleader’s secret to self-confidence is having fun! It’s physically demanding at first, but we find that we enjoy every minute. A healthy diet, an active lifestyle, and time spent with positive people fills you with a special kind of pep for life. We don’t cheer for fame and fortune, after all. We do what we do because we love it and that’s why we continue to do it. Our new optimistic perspective and the joy we experience in the gym gives us a solid foundation for life-long self-confidence building.
So… Go for happiness. Go for joy. Go for cheer – and cheer!
